Loading Table

The loading table enables the safe and efficient placement of pipes of varying lengths and diameters, either individually or in bundles. After loading, the operator exits the safety zone. One side of the table then lifts, allowing the pipes to roll forward in a controlled manner.

A laser sensor precisely measures the diameter of the frontmost pipe and transmits this data to the transfer station. There, the pipe’s center axis is detected, and the transfer arms are accurately positioned to securely pick up the pipe – even if it is partially covered by a significantly larger one. Pipes are always placed flush (left- or right-aligned, depending on the system configuration).

Storage Tower

Function: The storage tower from 3defacto is a professional solution for storing pipes. The individual storage of pipes is the decisive advantage of the storage tower. Each pipe can be stored and retrieved at any time.

Storage: The pipe is conveyed into the center of the storage tower by the transport system. The lifting system picks up the pipe and moves it vertically upwards. The software assigns the pipe a storage location in one of the drawers. This drawer moves horizontally to the storage position of the pipe. After the pipe has been deposited, the drawer retracts, allowing the next pipe to be loaded.

Organizational system: Each storage location is assigned to a pipe. This means that tubes can be stored and retrieved as required.

Retrieval: Pipes are retrieved in the reverse order to storage.

Roller Conveyor – light version

The roller conveyor transports pipes safely and efficiently in a longitudinal direction throughout the production process. For special processing steps – such as in sandblasting systems or painting booths – the rollers can be tilted at a 45° angle, causing the pipe to rotate on its own axis during transport. This enables uniform processing of all sides of the pipe.

The number and position of the rollers are individually adapted to the component spectrum. Even short pipe sections can be reliably conveyed, as the roller conveyor is designed for the minimum expected pipe length.

The roller conveyor transports pipes safely and efficiently in a longitudinal direction throughout the production process. Cross conveyor

The cross conveyor handles the lateral transport of pipes across the main conveying direction – for example, from one roller conveyor line to the next.

Both forward and reverse operation are possible, enabling efficient buffering or return processes as well.

Thanks to its modular design, the cross conveyor can be configured in various lengths and widths, depending on the number of pipes to be moved or the distance to be bridged in the hall layout.

Transfer Module

The transfer module ensures the precise and safe handover of pipes between individual stations within the production line. It consists of a vertically movable lifting beam with laterally extendable gripping arms.

These reach up to 0.8 m to each side and enable pipes to be picked up and placed down strictly at their center of gravity – even with changing positions and pipe diameters.

The flexible gripping mechanism allows pinpoint handling without collisions, ensuring stable process control. The module is suitable both for single-part removal and for cyclical supply of entire processing stations.

  • Pipe separation included: Variable positioning allows targeted separation of individual pipes

Cut to length system

The cut to length system is positioned downstream of a saw unit and ensures the precise cutting of pipes to the desired length. To do this, the stop moves to the predefined position and automatically brings its stop arm into the conveyor system’s moving area. The pipe is conveyed up to the stop and clamped by the saw’s clamping jaws. The stop arm then retracts, allowing the cut pipe section to continue moving without obstruction.

This automated process ensures consistently high cutting quality with minimal tolerances—regardless of pipe diameter or weight.

Shuttle

The shuttle enables crosswise transport of pipes perpendicular to the main conveying direction, similar to a 3defacto cross conveyor—but without buffering capability. While the cross conveyor can only move material between two roller conveyors, the shuttle can supply multiple lines. Loading and unloading are carried out longitudinally.

Scissor Lift Table

The scissor lift table ensures precise and secure transfer of pipes to downstream processing machines – for example, bending machines.

It can be moved longitudinally on rails and is height-adjustable to align exactly with the transfer height of the respective machine.

Operation is intuitive via manual controls, while integrated floor scanners ensure safety in the working area.

Beveling Machine Millina

Millina is a fully automated all-in-one solution for the preparation of pipe and fitting weld seams.

It combines high machining speed with maximum precision and flexibly adapts to different pipe sizes and bevel geometries – with no need for retooling or manual adjustments.

Thanks to its continuous inline concept, the pipe remains in the production line throughout the entire process.

Parallel clamping of two pipes, automatic diameter detection, and freely programmable milling paths enable continuous, cost-effective machining – even with varying workpieces.

Millina can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines.
This eliminates the need for manual loading and unloading.
Auxiliary systems like cranes or external loading devices are no longer required – the process is streamlined and fully automated.
Time Efficiency through Parallel Processing
The machine allows two pipes to be clamped simultaneously.
While one pipe is being machined at the output end, the next pipe is automatically clamped at the input end – without idle time for the milling spindle.
A 3-axis milling system with a 90° swivel head machines each pipe end fully automatically and without operator intervention.
Free Bevel Geometry
Depending on the welding method or manufacturing requirement, various bevel types can be implemented.
Millina can flexibly follow these paths – without retooling.
The only limitation is the tool geometry. All bevel types can be freely combined thanks to the integrated tool magazine.
Automatic Diameter Detection
An integrated probe automatically detects the pipe’s inner and outer diameters.
Ovalities are identified and compensated for in the milling path – enabling uniform, precise beveling and optimal weld preparation.
Automated Fitting Beveling
Fittings can also be processed automatically with Millina.
An optional front extension allows fittings of all complexities to be machined independently of the ongoing pipe beveling process – without interruptions or reconfiguration.
Precision Fit of Pipes and Fittings
For certain applications, an exact land width on the bevel is critical.
Millina precisely measures the ovality of the workpiece and compensates for it during processing.
This ensures a consistent land width – ideal for precise fit and twist-proof assembly.
Impeccable Alignment of Bevel Ends
Millina can individually detect the irregularities of pipes and fittings that are to be welded together. Based on this data, the machine independently calculates an optimized milling path, which is then applied to both components – ensuring the impeccable alignment of the bevel ends to be welded together.
The wall thicknesses of both parts remain as consistent as possible, and the bevel edges are perfectly matched to each other.
A precisely aligned bevel is the most important prerequisite for an automated welding process.

Beveling Machine Piranha

The Piranha is a high-precision beveling machine for face-side pipe processing – compact, fully automated, and powerful. It is ideal for preparing weld seams on pipes with various geometries and wall thicknesses. A standout feature is the tactile measurement and adaptive machining based on the pipe contour. The system integrates seamlessly into existing production lines.

Two machining units - maximum flexibility

At the heart of the machine are two powerful 3-axis systems, each equipped with its own tool spindle. Each side has a separate tool magazine with up to seven places - including a tactile measuring sensor for precise detection of irregularities according to the roundess.

The company's own software analyzes the measurement data and uses it to calculate an exact machining contour. This produces perfectly milled bevels - e.g. 30°, 37.5°, tulip seam and much more. - exactly to instructions and without any retooling.

Swivel Roller Conveyor

The swiveling roller conveyor provides maximum flexibility for your production logistics. It allows you to create a temporary passage in otherwise closed conveyor lines – for example, for industrial trucks, maintenance zones, or additional material routes. When needed, the module swivels sideways to open up a clear path – without requiring disassembly or conversion.

The production can continue and the system automatically buffers material that cannot be conveyed at that moment.
